Microneedling Treatment
What is Microneedling?
The microneedling device slides gently across the skin, penetrating the top layers to a depth of 2mm and creating several tiny needle punctures. This stimulates the body to trigger the natural formation of new elastin and collagen fibres. In reaction to this stimulus, the skin thickens and plumps, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and scars.
What Conditions Can Microneedling Treat?
Stretch marks
Lax or loose skin
Wrinkles and fine lines
Mild to moderate acne scarring
Skin texture and enlarged pores
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Medical microneedling can be safely repeated every 4 to 6 weeks. For collagen induction, a course of 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended. For scar reduction, 3 to 6 treatments are generally advised. Microneedling can also be performed on the legs, arms, décolleté and neck.
What To Avoid After Treatment?
Avoid acidic ingredients, retinol and AHAs such as glycolic acid. Use a zinc-based sunblock and avoid direct sun exposure until the skin has fully healed.
